SPATE OF DEADLY CRASHES HAS PHOENIX-AREA RESIDENTS CONCERNED
May 3, 2018
A spate of deadly vehicular accidents has left many Phoenix-area families mourning their loved ones, and local residents concerned about traffic safety.
In the case of one crash in Tucson, a Phoenix man lost his life. The man was killed in a single-car crash between Twin Peaks Road and the Interstate 10 Frontage Road. An officer doing a routine patrol discovered the decedent, 42-year-old Bruno Osvaldo Cadena, late in the evening on April 5, 2014. The police investigation is still ongoing.
Unfortunately, the death of Cadena isn’t the only tragic result from a recent auto accident in the Phoenix area. If you or a loved one has been hurt in a crash, the Arizona car accident lawyers at Wattel & York offer our services in providing no-charge, no-obligation consultations about your case.

DISTURBING CAR ACCIDENT TRENDS
Phoenix police have reported a possible case of drag racing that critically injured a 61-year-old landscaper late in March. A 17-year-old boy driving a Mustang was reportedly racing a 16-year-old when he allegedly ran a stop sign, causing a pickup truck to strike the Mustang. The truck injured the landscaper when it crashed through a wall. Details about the landscaper’s condition have not been released, though he has been listed in critical condition.
While the landscaper was fortunate enough to survive, others were not so lucky. A woman who was a passenger in Chevrolet Malibu died after the car struck a median wall on a Phoenix Interstate early in April. The driver is being charged with manslaughter. A passerby stopped his vehicle to assist and was struck by an SUV; he sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
On March 29, a valley man received the worst possible news after his mother, sister, and three children were all killed in a tragic car crash on Interstate 10. Larry Curley’s father was driving the family in a Ford pickup when it lost a tire, crossed the median, and was struck by a car and a semi. Although the family wore seatbelts, all but the father perished. Larry Curley’s father is recovering in the hospital. Curley told reporters that his father recently had new tires put on his truck.
If he decides to pursue a personal injury lawsuit, negligence in tire installment or manufacture may be one factor to consider.
CRITICAL STEPS TO TAKE IF YOU’RE INVOLVED IN A CRASH
If you’re involved in an auto accident – even a minor fender bender – it’s important to call the police right away. The police officer’s incident report will be crucial in proving the other party was at fault in the accident. And since insurance companies are notorious for denying claims or only offering partial payments, your next phone call should be to a law firm that specializes in car accidents.
Obtaining aggressive legal representation will help ensure that you get the compensation you deserve.
Your car accident lawyer will use the report and other key pieces of evidence to hold the other party responsible for compensating you. Your lawyer can help you obtain compensation from the insurance company with a claim or from the responsible party with a lawsuit.
IF YOU HAVE BEEN HURT IN A CAR ACCIDENT, YOU COULD BE ENTITLED TO DAMAGES FOR:
- Vehicle repairs
- Total loss of your vehicle
- Destruction of personal property within the vehicle
- Medical expenses
- Ongoing rehabilitative needs
- Pain and suffering
- Loss of past and future wages
An auto accident attorney can also help you file a wrongful death lawsuit in the event that a loved one was killed in a vehicular accident. Although no amount of money can compensate for your loss, a settlement or jury award could help you pay for your loved one’s final expenses.
