MULTIPLE DEADLY ACCIDENTS ON ARIZONA ROADWAYS

The busy roadways in and around Phoenix have seen more than their share of serious accidents in recent weeks. FREEWAY FATALITIES

On November 7, a fatal crash occurred between a pickup and a cement truck on Loop 303. ABC 15 reported that the pickup truck was traveling southbound when it hit the cement truck, driving in the opposite direction. One of the drivers died in the crash, while another was transported to an area hospital. The stretch of highway was closed for many hours as authorities investigated the cause of the crash.

A taxi was the only vehicle involved in another fatal accident that occurred just one day later. According to AZ Central, the taxi was carrying two passengers on Interstate 10 when it lost control on an off-ramp and veered into a pole. The vehicle caught fire and witnesses of the crash pulled the driver and passenger to safety. Sadly, a 70-year-old woman died in the crash, while a male passenger and the driver of the cab were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Also on November 8, a deadly crash on I-10 in West Valley closed the freeway for several hours. Investigating officials told the local Fox station that the accident occurred when a pedestrian ran out into traffic at 4:00 a.m. and was hit by a semi-trailer. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

A two-car crash took the life of another victim on November 12. KPHO reports a vehicle exiting Loop 101 collided with another vehicle on 19th Avenue. The driver of the first vehicle was taken to an area hospital, where he later died. The driver of the second vehicle was also taken to the hospital after the crash, but only as a precautionary measure.
